The park is a great place for an easy walk or run. Combine it with the Lake Lure Town Center Walkway to see the Flowering Bridge and the beach.

This park features beautiful vistas of the mountains of Hickory Nut Gorge and is a popular choice for an impromptu picnic, sunbathing, reading, bird watching and catching an afternoon nap in a lawn chair by the lake.

WHERE: Lake Lure, NC

DIRECTIONS: Located in the center of town at the western end of Lake Lure. The park is conveniently located next to the Welcome Center, Washburn Marina and Lake Lure Tours.

Marina includes a public boat launch. A permit is required to put a private boat on the lake. Permits can be purchased at Lake Lure Tours office and Town Hall. Lake Lure Tours also does boat rentals including kayaks and stand-up paddleboards.

Bring a Map

Keep your maps in a plastic bag to protect them from the rain and know how to use them. GPS units are great, but they are not substitutes for knowing how to use a map and compass.
